Seltmann Introduces NO LIMITS Porcelain Dinnerware with Full Range of Modular, Compatible Pieces4/17/2013
There’s no limit to what foodservice professionals can expect from the new Seltmann NO LIMITS line of white porcelain tableware from Frieling USA. Made in Germany to the highest quality standards, the full range features 49 different round and square pieces that are modular and compatible, so each item can be used individually or combined with others in the line. Matching platters can double as lid covers that protect food and make the pieces stackable. Saucers can cover cups, and platters and plates of various sizes and shapes can cover any piece in the line. With the look of contemporary simplicity that serves as a backdrop to today’s cuisine, the bowls and cups are slightly angled upward, so plates fit perfectly under or over them. NO LIMITS is oven, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher safe. This sturdy tableware can be used indoors or outdoors, and can even withstand the high heat of salamander broiler ovens, eliminating the need to transfer food to a different plate for finishing gratin potatoes, macaroni and cheese and more. Seltmann’s porcelain has excellent heat storing capability, slowly releasing heat after preheating to keep food warm. The centers of the plates are thicker than the rims to store even more heat. Stronger, lighter and more translucent, Seltmann's NO LIMITS porcelain is composed of an ideal formula of 50% Caolin, 25% Quartz and 25% Feldspar. It is completely lead free and cadmium free, meeting strict California regulations. It is twice fired with eco-friendly natural gas for extreme hardness and durability. The extremely hard glaze of the fully vitrified NO LIMITS line – which ranks above metal, bone china and fine china on the Mohs scale of hardness – prevents scratching by knives or flatware. It resists breaking and chipping because of its rolled edges and material hardness. Unglazed feet are diamond polished three times to prevent scratching of wood or glass tables or other china, and leveling prevents liquids from running on the plate. The Seltmann NO LIMITS line from Frieling includes a variety of bowls, platters, plates, cups, saucers and serving items, including a 40 ounce coffee pot, sugar bowl, creamer, pitcher, gravy boat and salt and pepper set. List prices range from $10 to $70. Seltmann has been family owned for more than 100 years, with an ongoing commitment to investing in state-of-the-art technologies. Well known in other parts of the world for its quality, attention to detail, and, the fact that all its products are made at the Seltmann factories in Germany (thereby insuring both availability and consistently high quality)...Seltmann Porcelain has been making great hospitality dinnerware for over 100 years! Well, now Seltmann has added DIAMANT, a totally new shape and a totally new type of porcelain. This new type of porcelain is unique combination of purity, fineness and lustrous pearlescent finish. After years of research, the company’s porcelain experts have managed to combine the delicate look of cream-coloured soft porcelain with the advantages of hard porcelain. The result is a cream porcelain that not only looks warm and soft, but is also velvety to the touch. The porcelain body of DIAMANT is fired at around 2700°F. This is the temperature used to fire hard porcelain. Therefore, the porcelain is much stronger and harder, giving it a relatively high edge impact resistance. The much greater hardness of the glaze ensures a long-lasting scratchproof finish. This is exactly the type of attention to detail that Seltmann is increasingly becoming known for. These special characteristics make it possible to create exceptionally thin forms with the highly sought-after translucence. The new porcelain has been given a name that reflects its unique appearance: “DIAMANT” (diamond).
